Looking for ways to volunteer?
The purpose of the Blue Elk District is to provide support to the local units within our District. We want to provide the best possible program for our youth, and we cannot do that without the help of our volunteer leaders. We have many volunteer opportunities available at the District and Unit level. Contact one of our Key 3 below for details!
The District Key 3 consists of the District Chair, District Commissioner, and District Executive/District Director. They meet as often as necessary to ensure proper coordination of the work of the district (probably twice a month for about an hour). The district’s purpose is to support units to ensure that our youth members get the best possible Scouting experience in the safest possible environment. The best way to ensure this is to make sure that all units show continuous improvement in Journey to Excellence. The District Key 3 also keep in close telephone contact throughout the month and usually work together in building the agenda for the district committee meeting.

Eagle Scout represents Scouts, BSA's highest honor. Nationally, only 4% of Scouts attain the rank of Eagle. In Heart of America Council, 20% of Scouts attain the rank of Eagle.
The Quartermaster Award is the highest award in the Sea Scout program. Not only can a Sea Scout earn this award, but they can also earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
The Summit Rank represents Venturing's highest honor. To achieve this ultimate recognition, you will serve the crew as a leader— both formally and informally— and you will be a mentor to others.
