CSAA News & Events


Purpose

The purpose of the Association is to advance Scouting through the contribution of (a) financial resources, (b) member time and (c) member talent for the current camp staff. 

 

Benefits

The primary benefit to the membership is that it provides an avenue for
further Scouting participation in a rewarding a manner.  In addition to
providing members a mechanism to keep in touch with established friendships,
through the specific donation of funds and the ability to pick and choose
projects, member will be able to serve.

One of the goals of the CSAA is to provide the Heart of America Council with
a substantial un-tapped resource - former staffers.  This group will provide
valuable assistance in (a) other fund raising efforts, (b) camp staff
recruiting, and (c) volunteers for all aspects of Scouting.

 

Fundraising

Membership dues are required and members will be encouraged to donate additional amounts.  The Association will establish eligible funds such as a scholarship fund or camp improvement fund.  The donor will be able to designate which fund(s) his/her donation will support (i.e. 100% donor-designated). 

Activities

 

Specific activities will be determined by the Executive Committee and the individual camp chapters, although it is envisioned to include (1) annual banquet, (2) annual work day to prepare staff and program areas, and (3) annual camp staff appreciation feast.  Camp Staff history, including rosters, will be an on-going effort including current membership contact.  In addition, an on-going resource center of program material, skits, songs, etc. will be developed.
